Bet Overview
(Tick Market)
This is a market on the aggregate sum of the starting prices of the winners at a race meeting.
The maximum starting price is 50-1, even if a horse wins at a greater price, only 50 points will be counted. Where a starting price is not a whole number, the price will be rounded to the nearest first decimal place (halves going up). For example 9-4, which is 2.25-1, counts as 2.3.
For this market whole points are divided into tenths. If you go high (buy) with £10 a point then it will be £1 a tenth.
Example
For a National Hunt meeting at Cheltenham, our opening SPs quote might be 59 - 62.
If you thought some of the fancied horses were strong contenders, you would go low (sell) at 59, reflecting your view that short priced horses would win.
Lets say the final make up was 44 points:
1st Race = 14-1(14pts)
2nd Race = 8-1 (8pts)
3rd Race = 8-15 (0.5pts)
4th Race = 11-2 (5.5pts)
5th Race = 8-1(8pts)
6th Race = 8-1 (8pts)
Total make up = 44 pts
Had you bought at 62 you would have lost 18 times your stake.
18 x £5 (50p a tick) = -£90
Had you sold at 59 you would have won 14 times your stake.
14 x £5 (50p a tick) = £70
