Bet Overview
A bet may be offered about the performance of dogs in individual races, awarding points according to official finishing positions.
1st = 25points, 2nd = 10points and 3rd = 5points.
This market gives one an opportunity to back or oppose a dog, something which traditional fixed odds betting does not offer.
Example
In a race at Wimbledon, we might quote a particular dogs performance as 7 - 8.5.
If you think the dog can come 2nd or even win the race then you would go high (BUY) at 8.5 for the stake of your choice, in this case £5.
If the dog wins the race then it would be awarded 25 points so you would have won 16.5 times your stake.
16.5 x 5 = £82.50
But if the dog had trailed in last and been awarded no points you would have lost 8.5 times your stake.
8.5 x 5 = -£42.50
