Bet Overview
This is where we will pit two drivers against each other in the race, making one as the favourite over the other.
The driver that finishes ahead of the other will be awarded 10 points as well as 2 points per position he wins by.
In the case of a driver retiring, it is the point he comes off at in the race that is classed as his position.
For example, if a driver is the third man to spin off/crash/retire in a 20 man race, he has come 17th.
Example
In the British Grand Prix, we might quote Heinz-Harold Frentzen as favourite over Jacques Villeneuve by 2-5 points. If you think Frentzen will beat Villeneuve by a long way the you would go high (BUY) at 2 for the stake of your choice, in this case £5.
If Frentzen comes 3rd while Villeneuve trails in 9th, the result would be +22 so you would have won 17 times your stake.
17 x 5 = £85
But if Frentzen had been the fourth driver to retire with 22 drivers having started the race he would have been judged to have come 18th. If Villeneuve had finished 9th the result would have been -28 so the same bet would have lost you 33 times your stake.
33 x £5 = -£165
